Skincare needs change with your age
Everyone wants healthy skin. Whether you’re in your teens, roaring twenties or sassy seventies, Barely Blush has the perfect formula to achieve the radiant skin you’re looking for.

Skincare Through Your 20s

There are two skincare priorities for your teens and twenties: Wash your face every dayand moisturize twice daily – morning and night. Form these good routines in your teens and twenties, and your skin will thank you later. Be sure to use SPF protection during the day. Many products, like our tinted moisturizer, contain SPF protection and are perfectly balanced for all skin types.

For a lot of women, teens and twenties means carefully managing acne and the occasional breakout. We recommend Blemex Drying Lotion.

Stay hydrated! Keep your body hydrated with at least 64 ounces of water or unsweetened herbal tea each day. Remember, dehydration leads to premature aging, and no one wants that!

Skincare In Your 30s
As you enter your 30s, you’ll begin to notice the early signs of aging and will want to make a few changes to your daily skincare routine. Washing your face with a gentle cleanser, moisturizing twice daily, and utilizing daily SPF is a habit you will continue for life, but in your 30s you will want to transition to an antioxidant-rich moisturizer to help prevent against external toxins.

While the skin on our face, neck and décolletage is often our top priority, don’t forget to apply SPF protection from head to toe—all year round. Exfoliate your body once a week, and don’t forget to moisturize and SPF protect your lips, hands, and hair.

Also, consider a tonerto balance your skin between washing and applying your moisturizer.

You may start to see that your skin appears a bit dull, which means it’s time to add an acid exfoliator once or twice a week. It’s also time to add an eye creamto your daily routine, to combat any combination of fine lines, puffiness, and dark circles.

In addition to your at-home routine, deep cleaning facials every 1 to 3 months will help maintain your youthful glow.

Skincare In Your 40s
Hormones will begin to fluctuate again in your late 30s and early 40s, which means you may once again find yourself struggling with acne. If you experience cystic acne along your jawline, use a drying lotion spot treatment.

Continue to exfoliate weekly followed by a face mask. If you haven’t yet, it’s time to add a serum to your skincare routine, applied at least 5 minutes before your daily moisturizer. Both should be applied to your face, neck and décolletage.

In addition to drinking water, you may begin to start losing collagen in your 40s. Drinking bone broth for its collagen content or taking collagen supplements will help to keep your skin youthful.

Skincare In Your 50s
When you reach your 50s, it’s time to upgrade all your skincare products.

This decade is when your fine lines may transition to deep wrinkles and creases, and you will start to lose mass in your face. This means small enhancements to your skincare routine, including purchasing makeup that doesn’t cake or highlight creases, and incorporating nourishing products that deliver the lost nutrients your skin requires. Hyaluronic acidis a must, as well as serums and moisturizers that will help to plump your skin.

If you start to notice sun spots or hyperpigmentation, select a daily serumthat will even out your skin tone. This is when many women reach out to their dermatologist to discuss fillers, but the more proactive you are the less you will need to invest in cosmetic procedures.

Prioritize your sleep, as sleep is, when your skin, and body, heals and repairs—and consider taking melatonin to help regulate your sleep.

Skincare In Your 60s and beyond
Skincare in your 60s and beyond will be centered around keeping your skin hydrated. We lose moisture and natural oil in our skin as we age, so a diet rich in omega fatty acids will help. Transition to serums and moisturizers designed for wrinklesand sagging.

Most importantly, continue with your full skincare routine: exfoliate 1 to 2 times a week, a weekly face mask, and twice a day you must wash, tone, serum, and moisturize. You should still be going in for monthly facials to deep clean, tighten and firm. Your monthly facial will also slough away dead skin that as that as we age becomes more difficult to remove.
